PT Badak NGL plant and the settlement supporting areas for the surrounding communities are located in South Bontang, East Kalimantan, about 56 Km from Badak Gas field. Initially, it was swamp area. The area had never been occupied permanently, except the fishermen whom temporarily stayed, spreading out around the coastal area.

Currently this community already have 1,237 company housing, 4 schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School, with total manpower of about 1,285 heads. It is equipped with various facilities for sport and recreation, guest house, multipurpose building, hospital, Main Office of PT Badak NGL and one pier for marine recreation.

Some other workers live separately at their own community near PT Badak NGL community. This separate area consisting of 787 houses, built under residential ownership program sponsored by the company.

After several years conduct replanting around the plant and its community, the LNG community can now proudly present LNG/LPG plant with environmental orientation, a small town which is continuously developing. The people live in harmony with their nature and social environment and qualified human resources whom handle and operate the LNG plant.

PT Badak NGL operates the plant and support the surrounding community, with a vision that the company and its employees constitutes a mutually related partner in synergy being the key toward success in producing LNG.
